Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

They may be stuck onto the control panel and you may have to pry them off. Look at the new end caps and make sure there are no other places that a screw might go into. If it appears that only two screws are used then the end cap is likely stuck and you will need to pry it loose from the control panel. You will need to pry the end cap to the side.
