Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I would begin by removing the lower access panel and checking the voltage supply with the multimeter/voltage meter at the dishwasher electrical junction box. Flip the circuit breaker off dedicated for the dishwasher before removing the junction box cover. Remove the two wire nuts from the black and white wires. Flip the circuit breaker on and measure the voltage supply across the white and black power supply wires. NOTE: I do not recommend measuring voltage unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

A:

Farrokh: Check inside your house breaker box for a tripped circuit breaker dedicated for the dishwasher electrical circuit. Reset the house breaker dedicated for the dishwasher circuit by flipping the breaker off and on 2-3 times and then see if the dishwasher is getting the proper voltage of 120 volts. You may need an electrician if youre not able to get voltage to the dishwasher.

Q:

Why won't my GE dishwasher model #GLD5700N10BB fill with water

A:

The overfill switch could be the problem. Open the dishwasher door & lift the float up & down a couple of times. If the float is stuck up the unit will not fill. Remove any debris that may be blocking the float.

Make sure that the water valves to the dishwasher are turned on all the way. Look at the water lines to the dishwasher and remove any kinks.

Check the wiring harness to ensure it is still connected to the water valve. Other testing will require the use of a multi meter and electrical knowledge. If you need more help please resubmit your question with the results of your checks.
