Q:

how do you remove and install a door frame on a whirlpool duet washer model ghw9400pw1

A:

Installing new parts does require the right tools and good instructions. Otherwise it can turn into a frustrating experience. While you wait for the expert to help with those directions, you might want to view the schematics for your washer at Sears Parts Direct. It gives an exploded view so it is easy to see how things fit together. I atatched the link below. If you do decide it would just be easier to have an experienced technician do the repair, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the handy scheduler. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Whirlpool-Parts/Washer-Parts/Model-GHW9400PW1/1198/0153200?pathTaken= http://www.searshomeservices.com/

A:

Mark, I still have 1 more question: I looked at the screws that hold the hinge door to the main body of the machine but they are this unusual shape, not a phillips type screw, but it looks like a star with maybe 6 - 8 points. What type of screwdriver do I need for this or do I need an electric drill? Pls advise where I can find the screwdriver for this type of screw. Thank you. Carolyn

Q:

How do I disable the control lock on my Duet washer?

A:

I have included a portion of the owners’ manual that covers how to turn on/off the control lock feature. Follow these instructions and if that does not work your washer may have a stuck button on the UI (User Interface).

Also, here is a link you may use to view, download, and/or print your owners’ manual, please click the following; Owners’ manual

If you require further assistance please resubmit question with more details. I will be looking forward to helping you again in the near future.
