Question and Answers

Q:

Drying Time - Drying sensor does not seem to work as well as before GGW9200LW0 Whirlpool Dryer

Q:

blower removel GGW9200LW0 Whirlpool Dryer

A:

It is reverse threaded. I assume that you have already accessed the blower wheel. It has a square hole in the center of the fan. A 1/2" socket drive will fit in that square hole. Hold the motor shaft behind the blower wheel stationary and turn that fan clockwise to remove it. Here is a link for a previous answer that has more information about that repair: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/288510-remove-blower-wheel-kenmore-series-90-electric-dryer

Q:

How do I replace the igniter on my Whirlpool gas dryer?

A:

Here are the steps for accessing the igniter on your dryer:

  1. Turn off the gas supply to the dryer and unplug the unit to completely disconnect electrical power. NOTE: Metal edges of internal components may be sharp. Protective gloves are recommended.
  2. Remove the screws from the bottom flange of the toe panel (see 1st image). Pull the panel out at the bottom. Pull down and remove the panel.
  3. With the toe panel removed, you should be able to access the igniter on the gas valve. Unplug the wire harness connection to the igniter. Remove the screw that secures the igniter to the gas valve assembly.
  4. Replace the igniter and reverse the above process for reassembly.
