If an electric dryer has lights and power but will not run then I suggest the thermal fuse be checked for continuity with a meter is one is available. Remember to unplug the dryer first. The images below will show how to remove the lower access panel to access the thermal fuse. You can reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.

I know how important it is to have a good working dryer so that your freshly washed clothes can be nice and dry. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with a few tips about what may be causing your problem. I am also adding a second link in where you can enter your model number and your owners manual will pop up when where could find out which button will activate the child lock feature. Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the dryer. A few things would cause the dryer not to start. They are a failed door switch, motor, thermal fuse, belt switch, and main control. We know the touch pad is working because the unit beeps when you push the start button so we will not waste time checking it. I recommend checking the door switch first. I have provided you with the instructions below on how to enter the test mode in the first image. Once in the test mode open and close the door. The unit should beep when the door is opened and closed. If there is no beep, you will need to check the door switch connections. If they are fine, I recommend ohming the door switch.

If the unit beeps when the door is opened and closed move to the second image and start with test 2. Please make sure to unplug the dryer first. The test will require an ohmmeter and you to accessing the main control board. The instructions for accessing the control are in image number three. If you follow the test, it will aid in diagnosing the dryer.

Please feel free to reply below if you have any troubles at all and I will assist you further. Here is a link to order any parts you need. Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

If all of the segments of the display are not lit when you enter the service mode it will be hard to diagnose. I recommend entering the service mode again to see if all of the lights come on and then shows the 25. The 25 could be an error code. I would need to know the model number to be able to tell you if this is an error code or a defective interface. As for the door switch, you should have a white and blue wire going to the switch. You should have continuity between where the blue wire and white wire connect when the button is pushed. If you do not get a reading when the button is pushed, the door switch is defective.
