Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my dryer running so hot. GEW9250PW1 Whirlpool Residential dryer

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your dryer and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number GEW9250PW1 and the cycling thermostat is most likely the culprit in this case. If the cycling thermostat fails to open (stuck) the dryer will cycle off of the high limit thermostat. When this happens your clothes will come out very hot along with other symptoms. If the thermal fuse was bad the dryer would not function at all so I would not suspect it being the problem. Here is a link that will help test the thermal cut off and the thermistor. It is also possible that the heating element is failing and causing the high hear. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.
