Dryer Question GEW9200LW1 Whirlpool Residential dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your dryer. Upon researching model number GEW9200LW1; it sounds like the control board may have shorted out. Control boards are sensitive to static electricity. There isn’t a fuse in the unit.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Q:

Dryer will not start. GEW9200LW1 Whirlpool Residential dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dryer is not working properly.

To check the door switch, disconnect the door switch quick disconnect at the door switch harness located under the top. With the door shut, it should measure continuity across the blue and white wire. The door switch harness connector will be located on the upper side of the left side panel. You will see the wires lead to the door switch. Disconnect the harness connector and check for continuity across the blue and white wires leading to the door switch. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the top panel.
I added an image below of the wiring diagram and traced the door switch circuit and motor circuit. The green tracer represents the WHITE neutral circuit. After pressing start, 120 volts should be present when measuring the voltage across P1-4 and P1-3 as well as 120 volts across P1-2 and P1-4. Note: I do not recommend making any voltage measurements unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer.
To remove the top, remove the screws along the back of the top and then slide the top back and then lift it off.
