Q:

willnot heat GEQ9800LW1 Whirlpool Residential dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Whirlpool dryer.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your dryer malfunction, after researching. I would suggest checking for three parts to cause the dryer not to heat. the first is the thermal fuse located on the blower housing. When the fuse pops it won’t allow the dryer to produce the heat also the thermostat located in the same area. Lastly look on the heating element to see if there are any burn makes on it. Below I will link the testing procedures for the parts. These are the most common parts to cause the issue with the heat.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

*Safety disclaimer before you try and repair the unit make sure the power supply is disconnected. There may be sharp parts to the unit that can cause injury to you if not careful. If you don’t not feel comfortable checking this yourself
