Question and Answers

Q:

freezer doesn't freeze-coils in bottom of freeser do not frost gd5rhaxnt00

Q:

Why won't the refrigerator get cold?

A:

First you need to determine what the freezer temperature is getting down to. The ideal temperature is 0-5 degrees. If the freezer doesn't get down to this temperature the ref side will probably not cool properly. The best way to check the temperature is with a thermometer placed between some packages, meat works the best for this. If the temperature is ok check the air flow at the air diffuser (damper). Feel how strong it's blowing and then open the freezer door. With the door open check the air flow again. If the air flow increases it indicates a stopped up or restricted return air vent. This low air flow will also cause the refrigerator section to have a difficult time cooling. If there is nothing blocking the return air vent then it will be frozen inside the vent. The only way to get this out is to turn the complete unit off for a few hrs. The ice will have to melt out and this can take awhile. Sometimes this occurs when air leaks into the refrigerator or the doors are kept open for long periods of time. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
