Question and Answers

Q:

How do I change an existing condenser fan motor with 4 wires to one with 2 wires?

A:

Never mind. I wired the green to the mounting screw of the new condenser. I then wired in the red to one black wire of the new condenser fan and a white wire that went to the condenser to the other black condenser fan wire. The second white wire went to my water cooler/ice maker and I don't use that anyway, so that wire sits abandoned.

Thank you for your question. Rewiring this motor can be a little confusing. Actually the original motor is only using 2 wires. The middle green wire is only a ground that will not be needed with this condenser motor. On this replacement motor, connect either one of the black wires to the red wire and connect the other black lead to both of the white wires. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
