Question and Answers

Q:

wall oven GBD307PDT09

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the oven now powering up. I know how frustrating that is.

Check the housebreaker or fuse and then test for power where it enters the oven. If there is a 220-volt wall plug, disconnect the fuse or turn the breaker off, then pull the oven away from the wall and pull the plug. Turn the breaker back on and test the wall outlet. Also check the terminal block, located just inside the back of the unit. This is where the main power cord attaches to the oven. If you have power coming into the unit from the outlet, it’s likely the electronic control has a shorted relay and is not completing the circuit.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

My double oven has gone out 3 times since I've built my house 9 years ago...appliances were brand new. What's going on?? Do I have to replace another panel? GBD307PDT09

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your oven and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number gbd307pdt09 and usually when you are having issue with the controller indicates that the oven may have received a surge of electricity and damaged the board. Some controllers also have an internal fuse or timer that will cause the controller to not work after a predetermined amount of time. You may want to have a service technician check the oven for any parts that may be causing the controller to fail. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information. I hope this information helps you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Thank you for all the info. My door was the upper door of a double standalone oven and was a little different that the illustration. Mine had a bracket in each corner of the glass instead of one center bracket. Luckily, I have been able to disassemble and reassemble the door and have it reinstalled. Everything seems to be in working order. Will let you know later if there is a problem with leakage. Bill
