Question and Answers

Q:

Ice damming of freezer unit to refrigerator Ice forms in the pipe from lower freeze unit to the upper food compartment raising the refrigerator temp to 60 F

A:

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the refrigerator. I suspect the pipe you are referring to, may be the return air vent, located behind the crisper. Some models have a return vent behind both crispers. If this is the case, you can either turn the unit off for 24 hours and leave the freezer door open or you can pour hot water into the vent or vents to remove the ice. If you decide to use the water, first disconnect the power and also be prepared to wipe the water out of both the fridge and the freezer, when it runs out. This process can take awhile. I hope this will help you. If you would like to have a technician check this, I'm listing a site you can access, to schedule a tech to come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
