I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your washer. First, it is normal for the basket to shake allot when spinning empty. The washer has a balance ring attached to the top of the inner basket. If the washer is empty the balance ring cannot balance because there is no load in order to offset the unbalanced load. It should be tested with a somewhat balanced load in the washer. There are several things that can contribute to the vibration.

  • Worn out friction pads on the suspension plate
  • Worn out friction pads on the base assembly
  • Bent base assembly
  • Cracked and empty balance ring
  • Basket out of round
  • Basket not sitting center on the drive block
  • Foundation/flooring
  • Self leveling mechanism

With this type of symptom I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer. If you would like to schedule service, just click on this link:  Sears Home Services

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
