Q:

Why is my washer is makes a lot of noise when spinning? FWT445GES2 Frigidaire Washer

A:

Thank you for choosing sears I would be happy to help you with your washer. Upon researching modelFWT445GES2; one of things that can cause noise during the spin cycle is the pump. If the pump is defective or has some debris restricting it, you will hear an unusual noise during the washer spin cycle. You can also inspect the shock absorbers for any damage; the shock absorbers will cause a loud banging noise if that’s the cause of the problem.

I trust this information will help you, have a great day.

Q:

brown stains FWT445GES2 Frigidaire Washer

A:

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your washer staining the clothes. We are here to help. Based on the symptom, I suspect you have bearing and or seal failure. The brown stains can also come from a bad bellow in the front of the washer. If  you can move the inner drum up and down relative to the outer drum, that is a sign of a bearing problem. To confirm the condition of the bearing,  perform this test with the drum in 4 different  positions. Turn the drum 90 degrees between each test. Any up and down movement that can be felt, is a sign that the bearings are failing or that the spider has fractured. A fractured spider on its own would not normally cause brown spots. The images below shows rust on the back of the washer. This is something a technician should fix. The dryer would need to be removed to fix the washer. Also, to replace the bearing, the outer tub would need to be replaced. This is a major repair. I recommend replacing the washer. I hope this helps.
