Question and Answers

Q:

What is wrong with my model FWS933FS2 washer when it will spin but it will not agitate?

A:

You are correct if the washer will spin then the lid switch is most likely okay.

If the washer will drain and spin and the problem is that it will not agitate then the problem will be with the timer or the transmission.

If the washer will spin then the motor is okay.

When the washer is in agitation you should listen for any noise from the motor. If you hear nothing then it is likely the timer is bad. If you hear a humming sound then it is possible the transmission is locked up.

One quick test is to remove the belt from the motor pulley and see if the motor will run. If it runs then the transmission is locked up and will have to be replaced.

You can access the belt by removing the two lower screws on the bottom corners of the front panel. With the screws removed pull out on the bottom of the panel until the top clips release.

I hope this information is helpful to you but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
