Landell Most EXCELLENT pictures and instructions. I am so glad I did not rush out to buy a belt. The belt is on just fine and is not broken. I had someone else advise me that it was probably the belt. The symptoms are that the machine works on spin cycle it just wont adjitate during wash cycle. It wont do this on all cycles. I tested it before I took it apart. It sounds like the motors are all working. When it is supposed to adjitate, it looks like it wants to but is not able to. Kind of like a missing gearing or something. Excuse my inexpertise. What else can I do to troubleshoot? Thank you SO much in advance for you help.

Hi Mark, You are welcome. Unplug the washer and have someone watch the tub while you turn the large pulley by hand. When the pulley on the transmission is turned clockwise the gears in the transmission cause the shaft to oscillate back and forth. If the basket will not agitate, you have a transmission issue. If it will agitate you have an idler arm, belt, spring, or motor issue. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post. Thanks again for using Manage My Life. Landell

By basket do you mean the middle agitator or the whole basket? Either way, I put the machine back together to get better info for you. When I fill the basket with water and set the machine to any wash cycle, it is the same. I feel a little pulsing in the agitator and the motor sounds like its working. The spin cylcle works well. The middle agitator and basket do not oscillate. I am fairly comfortable taking now. LOL. Pretty darn simple, but not when you've never done it. So if it is the transmission, what do I need to do. Pictures are always welcome and thanks. Are there special tools? Or just the basic tools. How do I rule out the motors? Just to be sure. Thanks so much in advance Landell.

Hi Mark, From what you have told me your transmission is the issue. If the basket and agitator do not move when you turn the pulley clockwise, you will need to replace the transmission (part number 134737100). I have included the teardown instructions below. I am also including a link that you may use for parts purchase. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
