Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you.  I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

I would not cut that reed switch wire. If done so you will be taking away safety precautions that are put there on purpose. If anything I would just replace the switch. The part number for the reed switch would be 134399300.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

If the washer will fill, tumble and drain but not spin then I suspect the door lock mechanism is the problem. The washer might fill and tumble with the door closed and not locked but it won't spin. The information in the images below may be helpful to you. The first shows how to enter and run a diagnostic test. If the washer will spin in the diagnostic test but will not in a cycle then the door lock assembly needs to be replaced. The 2nd image shows how to bring up and read the error codes. This washer has no display show you must count the light flashes of the status lights. I hope this helps. You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.

Fred, thank you for your quick reply. I looked at my home email through work and it had a spam block, therefore the images weren't showing. I did the diagnostic test as stated and came up with error code 43, which states control board. You are suggesting the door lock mechanism be replaced vs the error code of control board. Since money is the issue do you suggest we try the door mechanism first? then the control board? Thanks again, Shelley

If you can run the diagnostic test and the washer spins then the door lock assembly is the most likely culprit. In the test the control doesn't look at the door lock. If the washer will not spin in a regular cycle but does in the test the replacing the door lock is the best option.
