Q:

spin FTF2140ES0 Frigidaire Washer

A:

Hi,

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

The issue is the motor not coming on.  Insure you can spin the inner basket by hand and that it is able to be turned freely.  If that turns out to be the case the motor and the motor control board near the motor must be checked to determine if the motor control board is faulty.  This requires a live voltage check and the constant resetting of the cycle.  I would recommend that you allow a technician out to repair the washer.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Q:

control board for frigidaire front loading washing machine

A:

The problem with the washer is concerning. I did some research on your model number but was not able to find a solution. Your expert will be able to better help answer your question. It may take two business days for your expert to reply. I do hope that everything works out on the washer.

only me. There was included in the package with the new part was an "attention" Testing has shown the "reed switch" is not needed on front load washers. (indeed on the new control board where those pins would go are not punched out and so I can not insert that part even if I wanted to). Then to continue the "attention" notice: If the washer has a reed switch, disconnect it from the old board and discard (while I have not reconnected it, neither have I discarded it). Please esplain to the customre opening the drawer will no longer disrupt the cycle of the washer." end of "attention" We are positive that this part noted was the switch mentioned. Just a thought.... Could it be that I have not put one of the modules on the proper connector? I tried to replace them methodically, but I am just putting that out there, just in case you or the expert has something on that. Thanks again for your help. Kat

PS I also did run (and it ran normally) a rinse spin cycle. Also double checked the order of the connections and there is not a way to mess that up. (the wires would not be able to reach the wrong connection. Plus I numbered them. Ok will wait for a response from the expert. Thanks for checkin for me. kat

HI there new morning: Here is something else we thought to try. We put the old control board back in and low and behold the same symptoms do happen.I also noticed the "control light" comes on when the previously mentioned choices are made. BUT one thing I did notice is I can NOT hit the cancel button and have everything cancel although after a period of time they all go out. Thanks for listening...hope I am giving specific enough info for your troubleshooting>Kat

Thank you for your question and good details. I understand that replacing an expensive part and still having issues would be upsetting.  I see you followed the included instructions and wiring connections.  I would certainly retrace my steps to make sure all the connections are correct and secure.  I have included a diagnostic test, error code explanations and an electrical diagram for the wiring.  If you feel comfortable making further checks, these should help. It really is not possible to diagnose without being able to test the connections with a meter.  I do recommend having a technician visit to thoroughly diagnose and make repairs.  This may be a wiring issue that is not readily visible.  You can schedule a Sears technician at Sears Home Services. If you need further assistance, please reply.  Thank you for  using Manage My Life.
