Question and Answers

Q:

How do you reverse the door on the Frigidaire fridge FFHI1817LS?

A:

When making some adjustments on a refrigerator door I know how important it is to have detailed information to make the job much easier. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your appliance model number and the owners manual will pop up in where you can find some information to help you with your question. I am also adding a second link in where you can enter your appliance model number and parts list diagram will pop up to help you with your second question to verify what was connected to the refrigerator. I hope my links are useful.

Thank you. I have the manual but it doesn't seem to cover this aspect of the door reversal. Does your second link imply that the reversal of the door requires additional parts?

Thank you for your question.

I will be able to assist you with reversing the doors on the refrigerator. I have included a set of illustrated instructions (See below). These should step you through the process of reversing the doors. The nameplate on the freezer door is the plug of the screw hole for the handle. Then the refrigerator door should be a regular plug.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please reply below with more details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Hi I'm reversing the door on a top mount Frigidaire model No. FRT18IL6DSB and like the question at the "Top of the Page" there does isn't a comparable hole in the doors for the hinge to go into..... is this a mistake and do I drill new holes or is there a way to take the shelf out of the door and rotate the door 180 degrees.

I am sorry you are having a problem reversing the door swing. I have looked up the model number you have submitted. According to the parts list there should be a plastic plug in the hole for the hinge. I have marked the plug in the image below. The instructions for reversing the door posted above should be very similar to yours. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you for using Manage my life. Mark T.

Thank you for the feed back. I assume you have a refrigerator with stainless steel doors. The refrigerators with stainless steel doors are not reversible. I have posted the door reversal information for your model in the image below. I cannot guarantee the door has the same structure on both sides of the door. I am not sure if the other side will support the weight of the door if you drill a hole. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
