Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't the water to the icemaker stop flowing?

A:

First disconnect the icemaker wire harness. If water flow stops, the icemaker # 241642501 will need to be replaced. If water continues to flow, unplug the unit at the wall outlet. Now you need to remove the back cover panel, to access the water valve. Disconnect the wire harness connections on the valve and plug the power cord back in. If there is no water flow, it indicates a wiring problem in the cabinet. If water continues to flow, turn the water supply shut-off valve off, to stop the water flow and the water valve # 240531101 will need to be replaced. These parts are available at Sears PartsDirect . If you need more assistance, you can resubmit your question with more details.

A:

For PEBLO80: Since the water shuts off when you raise the shut-off arm, the water valve is probably okay. You will likely need to replace the ice maker assembly (part 5304458371) to fix this problem. According to your symptoms, the ice maker assembly probably has a stuck relay. You can order the ice maker assembly from the Sears PartsDirect website (see link below). This information should help you fix the ice maker problem based on your symptoms. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. I provided a link for the Sears Service website below.
