Hi,

Thank you for asking this question and allow me to answer it this way.

Well let me try to explain. The water goes into the main water valve from the wall supply. From there the filter is placed into the circuit to filter all water. Then the dual icemaker and water dispenser water valve is there to fill either the ice maker or the glass at the dispenser. So what is not working on your refrigerator the ice maker or the water dispenser or both?

I hope this answer is useful and that it helps you correct the problem with your appliance.
Thank you for using ManageMyLife.

The water dispenser is working, but the ice maker isn't. I bought this unit new in 1996 so I was planning on replacing all water valves. When the ice maker quit getting water I rerouted the water lines to get water to the dispenser. That was so long ago, I don't know how the water lines originally went. There is a the part 55 (218859701) on the bottom right where the water enters the frig. A water line went from there to another valve on the bottom left, 241803703(original # 240519601), but I'm being told by the parts people that there is no valve located there. Just behind it is a dual valve (218832401). I by-passed it a long time ago and don't know how to route the hoses. I'm also told there is a dual valve with the same part no. (218832401) up top near the ice maker. There are 2 water hose inlets in the top right back of the frig. Those lines were cut and I'm not sure which lines go there now. I can add pictures tomorrow if you need them.

Bill__W. Where are the 2 valves located that are in the picture you provided? Are any valves located near the ice maker at the top of the frig?
