Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you. The part your talking about is the water tank its key#97 on shelves diagram. That what's holds the water and is the supply for the cold water that comes out of the dispenser. If this is cracked or broken it will need to be replaced, the correct part# is 218942701 this is a replacement, so instead of the tank it will be a roll off tubing. It replaces original tank to speed cooling of water. Click here for more information on the water Tube, also can order from the same link. Q:

What can cause the water dispenser to stop?

A:

Usually the main reason for the water to stop dispensing has to do with a diode problem. There is a set of diodes next to the water valve that separates the water dispenser and ice maker. The diodes wire directly to the water valve. One to the side that controls the water dispenser and the other diode to the valve side that controls the ice maker water flow. If the diode fails on the water dispenser side of the valve, it will shut the water off to the dispenser but have no effect on the water flow to the ice maker. It could be a water valve problem or maybe a problem with the actuator switch in the dispenser but the diodes are the most common problem. A technician will be required to make these checks. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
