Q:

How do I replace the internal tubing in a Frigidaire refrigerator?

A:

I am understanding the reason behind you wanting to change the tubing of your refrigerator. I researched your concern over the tubing aspect of your appliance and i came across an interesting conversation with a similar concern over the tubing. I believe it will help you to chose an alternative option and more cost efficient.

Thank you for your question. It is common for the water line to discolor because the tubing is porous and over time, the iron in the water will turn the tubing to a brown color. The discoloration is unsightly but does not pose any health risk. If you would like to replace the coil in the back of the refrigerator, you need to order the water tank. If you dont want to order the tank you can use regular plastic tubing from the hardware store it should be 1/4 inch. I have provided you with a diagram of how the water line is routed on the refrigerator. At the bottom of the diagram, it shows how to disconnect the waterlines from the connector. Push on the plastic ring then pull the tubing out. Please make sure to turn the water off to the refrigerator before disconnection any water lines.
