Question and Answers

Q:

The refrigeratorside is not cold. FRS26H7CW0 Frigidaire Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com I can understand your frustration when the refrigerator is not getting cold. If there is no air blowing from the air diffuser, first check for a thick frost build up on the back panel in the freezer. If there is a heavy frost buildup, this will be a defrost problem. As the frost gets thicker the air flow is reduced. In this case, I recommend turning the unit off for several hours to all it time to defrost. When it has completely defrosted, both sections will cool properly again for a few days until the frost builds up again. This will give you time to have a technician out to check it.

If there is no ice buildup, check the air flow again coming out of the diffuser and while checking it, open the freezer door. If the air flow increases, it indicates the return air vent is restricted (usually frozen). First check if anything is in front, blocking the return air vent in the refrigerator. If nothing is there, then it indicates the vent is iced up. In this case, turn the unit off for a few hours to allow it time to thaw. Air leaking inside can cause this type of problem. Check the doors to make sure they are sealing good. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, please reply with any additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, and you would like a Sears technician to complete the repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this helps you. Have a great day!
