I have same issue: Frigidaire Side-by-side refrigerator model #FRS23R4AW9 is freezing food. I turned knob for thermostat and did not hear a click sound like I do with freezer thermostat. Switch appears to work as on or off instead of varying tempatures.

I'm sorry that you are having these problems with the refrigerator. It sounds like you have two different problems with the ice. The ice maker and the dispenser are two separate features, so if one stops working the other won't. The problems with the ice maker will be caused by either the water solenoid or the ice maker itself. If the solenoid is opening but not closing it will need to be replaced. However, if the ice maker is leaving the connection open too long, then it will need to be replaced. You will need to test this in order to find the issue. For this type of problem, I would recommend that you have a technical look at it. As for the dispenser, it sounds like the controls have shorted. This could have been caused by the leaking water in the refrigerator, but it is not likely, since the panel is insulated in the door. However, it will probably need to be replaced as well.

If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread.
