Q:

freezer not cold enough FRS23R4AQ7 Frigidaire Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you.  I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

Make sure the control for the freezer temp is set to desired temp. If that didn’t work the next thing I would check would be the door seal on the freezer itself. If there are any tears or cracks air will get in, and it won’t cool properly. Take a dollar bill, shut it in the door. Pull it out slowly; if it comes out easy then the gasket would need to be replaced, if it tough to pull out the gasket would be ok.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

I know you are trying to help but I think almost anyone would check the temp setting first. I have known about the Dollar bill check for well over 50 yrs. The frig temp is ok. The freezer temp is to high and won't lower if I change the setting. I don't know where to go from here.

Q:

Why is the freezer door gasket too big that I ordered?

A:

First, I recommend comparing the part# on the box the door gasket came in with the part# on the freezer door gasket to see if they match. Sometimes they package the wrong gasket in the correct box. The gasket they sent you is a substitute door gasket per the parts list, but according to the resources I have available the part# does not substitute. The original freezer door gasket is part #240390604.

I recommend calling the phone# that you had ordered the door gasket from, let them know again that the door gasket is incorrect and they need to research the part for the correct door gasket.
