A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when working with your microwave.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your model number FMT144G1W2.

Looking at this particular model.   There is the vent coming out across the top where the black grill vent is.   Behind that grill vent is a special charcoal filter that needs to be changed periodically.

A number is different internal failures could prevent the microwave from heating. You could have a failed magnetron or a bad high voltage transformer. An open interlock switch or a failed TCO (thermal cut-out) switch could also cause this problem. I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair this microwave failure. Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. High voltage components inside the cavity can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation shielding test must be performed on the unit following any repair. These are the reasons that I recommend having a service technician repair the microwave. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
