Question and Answers

Q:

PROBLEM WITH MY FRIDGADAIRE OVEN NOT TURNING ON.

A:

We are very happy to help you and good afternoon. It may be the cord. Are you using an extension cord or do you see any wear or areas of dark color on the cord? If not, there are other issues that could be going on. The clock must be set for the oven to work. I've included a link below that will explain this in detail. You will still receive an expert response from our team within a day or two. I hope this is helpful to you.

You say that the burners still work. I am not sure whether you are indicating that the spark igniters are still ticking when you turn on a burner. If the spark igniters are ticking when you turn on a surface burner valve then the outlet cord is okay. If the burner igniters do not tick then you could have a problem with the outlet cord or the electrical outlet for the range. If you have not checked the house circuit breaker for the outlet, then I recommend that you check that issue first. If that house circuit breaker is tripped, then you may be able to fix this problem by resetting that breaker.

If the house circuit breaker is okay, I recommend that you plug a small lamp or appliance into the electrical outlet for the range to verify that it has power. If that outlet is dead, then you will need to have an electrician repair it.

If the outlet is okay, then I recommend that you have a service technician examine the range and repair it. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you want to fix this problem yourself, then I recommend that you check the voltage supply at the clock control board. The image below shows a wiring diagram for your range with the power supply marked in red and blue (actual wire colors are black and white). You can carefully check the voltage at the control board using a volt/ohm meter. You can access that control board by unplugging the range and removing the upper back panel. NOTE: You should only check that live voltage if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely measure it. Wear electrical safety gloves and safety goggles when checking that voltage. Unplug the range as soon as live testing is completed . If that clock control board in the console is getting voltage when the range is plugged in but it will not light up then you will need to replace that clock control board. You can order parts from this page: Frigidaire Range Model FGFB75DQF Parts . Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing and replacing internal components.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
