Question and Answers

Why won't any of the surface igniters spark?

In order for the surface igniters to operate voltage must be present to the spark module whenever any burner is set to the "Lite" position. Each burner valve has a switch mounted on top of the burner valve which completes the electrical circuit to the spark module when the knob is in the "LITE" position. All for burner switches are connected in a parallel circuit. The failure could be a loose wire connection at one of the switches or at the spark module. I added an image below showing the procedure on how to raise the top and remove the manifold cover so that you check for loose wiring. If the wiring is OK, the failure could be spark module. Follow the wires from the burner switches to locate the spark module.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your gas range.
