Thank you for your question. I know it can be frustrating when the water heater stops working. There is a rework kit # 6910811 for this model that a technician will need to install. The kit should be sent to you at no charge. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If this kit has been installed and the pilot won't stay lit when the knob is released, the pilot assembly # 6910427 will need to be replaced. I would strongly recommend having a technician check this and make the repair. Water heaters can be very dangerous when not working properly. I hope this will help you.

Q:

I need a thermocouple for a water heater Model Number FG1F4034T3NOV. Please advise how I can order JUST the thermocouple. It must have a LEFT HAND threading.

A:

Just the thermocouple with the left handed threads is not available. There is an enhancement kit # 6910811 that will be needed. If you call the manufacturer # 800-999-9515 and give them the model and serial number of your water heater, they will ship you the kit needed and there may be a credit to you. If you need more assistance, please resubmit your question, with additional details.

Q:

How do you replace the thermocouple in my water heater?

A:

In this model, the thermocouple itself cannot be replaced. The complete igniter assembly has to be replaced. There could be an updated complete igniter kit for this model but the serial number will be needed. I recommend having a technician inspect and make the repairs on this water heater. If it does require the new kit, there will be a credit on the part for you.
