Question and Answers

frigidaire ffh17f7hwc FFH17F7HWC Frigidaire Freezer

Thank you for your inquiry on your Frigidaire Freezer, Model: FFH17F7HWC. From reviewing the details on your model,if the freezer is not doing anything at all and the compressor is not starting; my first suspicion would be a defective start relay on the compressor. This devise allows the compressor to turn on to start generating cold air. They plug in to the side of the compressor located under the cover. It might be worth unplugging the unit, undoing the cover, and just make sure the components are still connected securely before replacing them. If you have a multimeter, you can test them for continuity too. I don’t see any power control boards or electronic control boards that could be an issue. For the most part, it's mainly mechanical, which makes troubleshooting much easier. I suspect that a replacement start relay and overload would solve the issue for you if the parts are secured on the compressor and no signs of any damage elsewhere from the move, such as wiring. With the light coming on, that tells me it is receiving power from the power source.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the freezer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

Caution: Contents inside the washer unit could have sharp edges. Make sure you wear protective gloves during the repair.
