Thank you for your questions on the slide in range.

I can understand your concern with the scratches on the oven door.

Most ranges when they come from the factory have a clear Mylar skin over the control to protect it from scratches during deliver and set up.

Once installed the home owner would peel this off to expose the surface finish underneath.

I am sure that this is the case but if it has been on there for 3 years it may be very difficult to remove it know.

I am sorry that Frigidaire will not help you with your range.

You may be able to make it look better if you use a stainless steel cleaner on the oven door, and it may reduce the scratches.

I believe that stainless steel door panel would not have a film or clear coat on it. It should be bare stainless finish.

Again when the range was first delivered I have seen the protective film over the panel that should be removed before using the range.

If this is not the case then I am sorry that I cannot be of help to you and I am sorry that Frigidaire is not willing to help you.

Please let me know if the clear coat is a protective film or if it is actually the finish of the oven door panel and the control panel.

There is no protective film on my range anywhere. This is definitely a clear coat over the stainless steel. Thanks for your help anyway. I may try to replace some clear coat--it certainly wouldn't be any worse. I am very disappointed that Frigidaire is putting clear coat on a $1000 + range. If I had known I certainly wouldn't have purchased it. The only solution I have gotten so far is to replace both parts for a total of around $500. That is ridiculous. A lesson to anyone who is thinking of purchasing a stainless steel appliance--Make sure there is no clear coat, it cannot be fixed if scratched!!
