Thank You for Submitting your question to ManageMyLife.com

I can definitely understand how frustrating it can be when your dryer takes longer than normal. Especially if your like me and try to get all you laundry done in one day. I have included two links for you regarding your current issue. The first is a great tool that sears sells to help you remove all the excess lint that builds up in your dryer and the dryer vent tube. This brush is also a great tool to clean the coils on your refrigerator to help reduce your engery bill. The second link is a video on specific areas to clean on your dryer. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details, if the dryer started and sounded normal after turning the drum by hand and then shutting the door, it may have a faulty motor providing there is nothing causing too much friction preventing the drum from rotating normally. If the dryer sounds and runs normally when running, it will likely need a new motor.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
