Q:

frigidaire oven -when we try to preheat/bake there is no heat, (coils do not turn on) however when we turn broil on the upper coil is working FEF366CCE Frigidaire Electric range

A:

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Frigidaire Electric Range. I am so sorry to hear the bake element isn't working. I will be happy to help you with this.

Start by checking the bake element itself. Over time elements can chip, crack or split and then they need to be replaced. Be sure to disconnect the power supply before you begin any repair. Check the element wiring for damage or loose connections. You can test the element for continuity with a multimeter. Remove the bake element from the oven. The range scale on the multimeter should be turned to Rx1k. Touch one lead from the multimeter to one of terminals on the end of the element. Touch the other lead to the other terminal. You should get a reading between 19 and 115 ohms. Otherwise it is time to replace the bake element.
I have included the link to order the bake element in case  you need it.

If the element is fine, then the issue is most likely the clock timer. I have included that link for you also.

Q:

Oven light will not go out on frigidaire electric oven model FEF366cce.

A:

I see you have an issue with the oven door light staying on. I see several other posts that seem to implicate the oven door hinge. Those were for a different make oven though so the expert will review and respond within 24-48 hours if not sooner. I did attached the schematics and parts list for your model at Sears Parts Direct if needed.

A:

Check the control to make sure that the light is turned off.

If the light is staying on when the switch (or control) is off, then you could have a broken door switch part # 316209901 or a bad control switch.

The light is off - controlled by door switc. Whe this happened I immediately tried the switch on the frame and that did not turn the light off. What is strange I was preheating the oven and we had a bad thunder & lightening storm. is the door switch expensive? If you need to change bulb they say to move wire to one side, but they so not explain how to move it, at least I could loosen bulb so it is not on constantly until I can get it fixed.
