Question and Answers

Why is the glass top getting very hot?

First, I must assume the oven vent tube is fastened where it connects to the top of the oven cavity. All 4 radiant burners should be contacting the bottom of the glass. If all 4 are tight against the glass and nothing is out of position, then there is nothing wrong. The glass is going to get hot once the element(s) have been on for any length of time and the heat will travel outside the cooking area. This is normal operation.

The type of cookware used can cause the top to get hotter than normal too if it's not making full contact with the glass. See images below. The type of cookware being used is likely the cause and not the range.
