Question and Answers

Q:

My cook top quit working, what part should I order?

A:

I will assume that all four burner quit heating. The cook top will not likely need any parts since all 4 burners quit at the same time.

If all four (4) burners quit at the same time the likely failure is the voltage supply. Locate the two circuit breakers dedicated for the cook top inside your house circuit breaker box and flip both circuit breakers OFF and back ON 2-3 times and then check the cook top operation. If it still will not work the failure could be a loose or burnt power supply connection at the cook top or somewhere between the cook top and the circuit breaker box. I added an image of the wiring diagram. In order for the elements to work they must have Line 1 (L1) and Line2 (L2) voltage supply.

The voltage supply should be the first thing to check where it connects to the cook top. I do not recommend checking voltage unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so, otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your cook top.
