Question and Answers

Q:

My Frigidaire dehumidifier will not extract water from the air.

A:

Keeping the house comfortable is a job the dehumidifier normally does well. I can understand your concern that it has stopped doing it's job. The owner's manual is great but it does stop at repair. The expert may be able to offer you some instructions to do this repair yourself, but if you do decide to seek professional repairs, an option is Sears Home Services at the first link below. I did find a general expert response that lists some things that may have gone wrong. It is the second link below. Hope this information helps.

Since my dehumidifier will intermittently display "F2", do you think a sensor has failed like the manual indicates. The unit is running now, but still no water collection in the tank.

The F2 does indicate that you have a sensor problem. That is probably why the dehumidifier is not extracting water. I do not see serviceable repair parts listed for this dehumidifier (even on the Frigidaire website).

You can contact Frigidaire according to the guidelines in that manual. They may be able to help you with parts and/or service.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

I cleaned the flter on the unit and the F2 message appeared a couple of times, then it stopped appearing and the unit is working "perfectly". I also prayed over it, so I'm not sure which worked (probably both).

I am glad to hear that the dehumidifier is working again. Cleaning the filter was a good idea (and prayer).
