Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Your model dishwasher does not require as much water as most dishwasher because it only pumps water through one of the spray arms at a time. The spray arms alternate operation and both will never spray at the same time. This is the reason why your model does not require the entire bottom of the tub to be covered in water. If the dishwasher was not getting enough water you would hear the pump surging or cavitating while washing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

The drain pump of your dish washer is located on the bottom right hand side of the dishwasher near the back.

Make sure to disconnect the electric to the dishwasher before attempting and repairs.

To access the drain pump you will need to remove the toe kick panel. The panel should be held on by 2 screws. Once the cover is removed, you should be able to see the pump. If you are able to reach the pump from the front, you will not have to uninstall the dishwasher. If you can not reach the pump, the dishwasher has to be uninstalled. To uninstall the dishwasher disconnect the drain hose under the sink then turn the water off to the dishwasher. Disconnect the water supply line to the valve of the dishwasher. Next, remove the screws that attach the dishwasher to the counter. The screws should be visible by opening the door and looking at the underside of the counter top. If the electric line is long enough you should be able to slide the dishwasher out of the hole other wise you will need to remove the electrical cover and disconnect the power line. The pump should be accessible from the right side of the dishwasher. Remove the pump mounting screw and then the hoses. Make sure to put something on the floor to catch the water that will come out when the hoses are removed. Then reassemble in the reverse order.

Q:

How do I unlock my Frigidaire dishwasher model #FDB520RHS0?

A:

General Information

On most dishwashers the control lock feature is located on the heat/dry button. You should have a little icon of a lock just below the heat/dry feature. To unlock the console you will need to hold the heat/dry button for 2-5 seconds. The lock feature should unlock the console and the little lock light should go off, and should be able to run the dishwasher cycles.

If the control board does not unlock, you may have a bad control board, and it may need to be replaced.
