Question and Answers

Q:

PF appears in the window FDB4050LHB1 Frigidaire Dishwasher

Q:

What does ER in my display mean on my Frigidaire dishwasher model FDB4050lhb1?

A:

ER is an error message but there should be another set of letters flashing also.

The image below includes the error codes for this dishwasher. The vent problem you refer to should bring up and ER UO code.

There is also an ER ER code that indicates a keypad switch failure.

If you confirm the error code and it is an ER UO code then the vent fan assembly will need to be replaced.

If you can't verify the error code then I recommend a technician check this problem.

Q:

Why won't our Frigidaire Precision Direct dishwasher start?

A:

It can be frustrating having a non working dishwasher. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below if you are interested in viewing. I hope the link that I provided is helpful. Have a great day.

The power outage could have damaged the electronic control board (part 154757002) in the console. The control panel (part 154639209) could also have been damaged. A problem with the door switch (unrelated to the power outage) could also prevent the dishwasher from starting. I recommend that you have a service technician examine the dishwasher and replace the failed components to repair this failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you want to attempt a do-it-yourself repair, reply with additional details and we will assist you further. The parts are not that expensive for this dishwasher. We may be able to figure out how to fix it through some basic technical troubleshooting steps.

Check that float in the bottom of the tub to make sure that it is not stuck in the "up" position. This would prevent the dishwasher from filling. Check to see if any of the status lights flash after you press the start button. The image below shows some of the codes that you may see. If you do not see any codes, then I recommend that you shut off the house circuit breaker for the dishwasher and access the door latch assembly as shown in the second image. The wiring diagram is shown in the third image. I provided a video that shows how to test switches using a volt/ohm meter in the link below this response. I recommend that you check the door switches. In the closed position, the switches should measure continuity. If one of the switches (or both) is bad, then this could be preventing your dishwasher from starting. If the door switches are okay, I recommend that you check the wiring connection between the control panel and the control board. If that wiring connection is okay, then you will probably need to replace that electronic control board (part 154757002). I provided a link for the Sears PartsDirect.com website below the response. These tips should help you get started with this repair (or maybe even complete it). Reply with additional details based on these steps if you need more help. NOTE: Be sure that you have the breaker shut off for the dishwasher before accessing internal components.

Ok. Thank you so much. We'll check it out. But there has been a new development in our situation. Yesterday, the dishwasher door stopped clsoing. It won't stay closed when we close it. It just started doing that yesterday evening. No one's been near it/on it since it stopped working. MIght that have something to do with the problem? Like the machine new the door was broken before it stopped closing? The door will stay up when we push it closed but it won't be secure.
