Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The door balance is control by the two door springs. Based on your symptom it sounds like one of the door springs has broken or has come disconnected from the door hinge or base. The door spring is part #154325201 which can be ordered from Sears PartsDirect .

You will need to remove the front lower access panel and check each side of the door to see which spring may have broken or have come disconnected. I added an image below with the instructions.

NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the dishwasher before removing the lower access panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

The control lights may be trying to tell us what is wrong.

If the "option" lights are blinking then the control thinks a power failure has occurred. If the "status" lights are blinking then the control thinks the door is open.

The 1st image below contains a diagnostic test that you can try to run.

The 2nd image shows the potential error codes you might experience.

At some point you will need a meter to verify voltage to the control. Only a technician should check live voltage.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this helps but you can try some checks and reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.
