Q:

Oven on FCS388WHCD Frigidaire Dual fuel range

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your oven will not turn off.

I recommend testing the oven probe sensor. When the sensor fails it may cause the unit not to shut off. If it reads good, then the next part would be a shorted or stuck element, and then the control board.

You can also visit searpartsdirect.com for parts, diagrams, and repair information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the unit before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

Q:

replace oven door hinge FCS388WHCD Frigidaire Dual fuel range

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your range. Upon researching model FCS388WHCD;  to replace the door hinges you will need to unplug the range power cord. Carefully remove the oven door, once the door is removed (lifted off the hinges) place the door on a surface that will not scratch the door. The door can be disassembled once you have it on a secure surface, make sure that you pay attention to the order that the door is being disassembled so that you can reverse the process when you are reassembling the unit.  To remove the door you normally have to open it to a stopping point and lift it off (carefully lift it off the door is heavy), if the door does not lift off then check the hinges some hinges require for some hardware to be removed before the door will lift up. I have posted a link of a video that can help you with the door removal, to view the video click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Removing and replacing the bake element is an easy procedure.

Disconnect the power supply from the range before servicing.

  • Disconnect the power supply from the range.
  • Open the oven door and remove the oven racks.
  • Remove the 1/4 inch hex head screws securing the bake element to the rear panel.
  • Slide the bake element out slowly until you see the wire connections on the bake element.
  • Pull the female spades from the male terminals of the bake element. Pull on the metal spades and not on the wires.
  • Be careful with the two wires because they may want to recoil back through the openings and be out of reach.
  • Reverse the procedure to install the new bake element and then check operation.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
