Replacing the clutch right the first time is very important. I did some research on your model number but was not able to find the instructions on replacing the clutch. Your expert will be able to help answer your question. It may take two business days. I do hope that everything works out with the washer.

Hello Frank,

I would like to assist you with your clutch retainer bolt removal. I have attached the instructions for removal of the clutch, this should assist you in removal and installation. If the bolt is corroded in place, use a sparing amount of penetrating fluid and allow ample time for it to soak in and help free the bolt. A little corrosion is the usual reason for an issue like this, plus the bolt is torqued in place.

Please let me know if you would like any further assistance.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom, it could have broken or weak strut. I added an image below showing how to release and hinge the top open and how to remove the front panel. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

Another failure which can cause the tub to bang the cabinet sides is if the side tumblers in the basket are rotating when the washer is spinning. If this is the case; I strongly suggest calling a service technician with the training; experience and knowledge to repair your model washer.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
