Thank you for your question and I new it required the F in front of the model number.

There is a plastic tab at the bottom of the pump and if you use a flat bladed screwdriver and insert it under the tab if will release the bottom of the pump out of the base.

If you break anything at all it would be the tab on the old pump and not the lock in the base.

I hope this will help you with your pump replacement.

I have another question regarding the replacement indicator knob Part #38421127. I am having trouble putting it on. Is there some magic needed here? It's a grey knob that appears to slip over the indicator lever on the turb/gear assy. Part #43191003. I don't want to break anything.

Thank you for the update on the knob replacement. The knob should just have a slot in it and the pointer should be facing the indicator icon for on and off function. It should just slide on unless some of the old broken knob is still on the lever that the knob attaches too. Sam A.

When it comes to removing parts from your tool owners manuals are the best things to have. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, I took some time searching in the Manage My Life website on your model number you have provided and it seems to be incorrect. A suggestion I have is to verify your model number and attach it to this thread so you can get a better answer from the experts! Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question on the replacement of the solution pump for the carpet cleaner.

The one screw is correct for the removal of the pump.

However there also may be a plastic tab that is also holding the pump into the base. Examine the area around the pump and the base to see if you can find the plastic tab holding the pump down. Look at the very bottom in the front for a molded tab on the bottom of the pump and where sits in the base assembly.

Please let me know how it turned out. Sam A.

Q:

I have a Hoover Steam Vac I purchased from Sears several years ago. Where can I take it to have it repaired?

A:

I checked in our parts look up system and the parts seem to mostly be available for ordering.

You can drop the steam vac off at any Sears retail store or any Sears service center if one is available to you. You will be called with an estimate before any repairs are made. You can call 1-800-469-4663 and find out what the minimum shop charge is for your area.
