Here is a link to the owner's manual. starting on page 26 there is a troubleshooting guide. Verify the status of the safety sensor lights first, this can tell you a lot.

Please reply with your findings if you would like further assistance.

Jerry C: You're right, of course, and I'm a bit embarrassed that I didnt check the troubleshooting guide first; it's spelled out there very plainly! Fact is, the problem cleared up "spontaneously" right after I filed my first communication. I was still thinking a loose wire until, at your suggestion, I found it in the manual. Thanks

Hello G E,

I'm happy to hear that you have it taken care of. It really makes a difference when we run into a problem with a device that we do not regularly service or inspect. That is completely normal, don't be embarrassed. I commend you for reaching out for assistance; many people do not and the outcome is not as favorable as yours. ;)

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your garage door opener. The remotes that you have are not compatible with this opener. It is rare that Liftmaster and Genie will work together. The remote that you need for this model are numbers GIT-1, GIT-2, GIT-3, GMI-1, and GWKP (keyless entry). Once you have the correct remote you can then program the Home Link to the opener. You will need a remote t do this. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
