Question and Answers

After turning water off and then on ice maker will not fill. ET1MTKXKT00 Whirlpool Top-mount refrigerator

Thank you for choosing and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your ice maker in your refrigerator is not working properly.

1. Check the temperature of the freezer becasue if it is fewer than 17 degrees F it wont make ice.
2.Check if your water fill spout is plugged with ice, if it is then it wont make ice.
3. Check to see if water is getting to the water inlet valve.
4.Use an OHM meter to check the continuity of the water inlet valve. If it does not have any continuity then you need to replace your water valve. If it does then the icemaker itself is the problem and may need to be replaced.
The icemaker line could have water frozen in it. You would need to check the ice maker line to make sure. You can use a blower dryer to defrost the line. Also you may have air stuck in the water lines. I recommend purging your system by holding the water dispenser button down for 5 minutes until water dispenses into a cup.

Thank you for the reply. For some reason after about 4 1/2 hours it decided it wanted to start working again. I was just about to take everything out of the freezer to use a blow dryer on the fill spout when the solenoid kicked on and filled up the tray with water and then some time later kicked out the ice. Again thank you for the help!!
