Hi Jerry,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

This is most likely a defective vent fan or airflow restriction.

  1. Make sure the fan is running.
  2. Check vent for restrictions top right rear of tub.
  3. Check connections at vent and at control.
  4. Check power to vent at control. If power is at vent assembly replace defective vent assembly.
Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

Thanks for submitting a question. The holidays are no time to be without a dishwasher.

From the description you give I agree with you and suspect the problem is the drain valve.

If the drain pump is running but no water is draining out then I'd start by checking the drain valve. Try redoing the electrical connections on the drain valve first. The drain valve can be checked for resistance/continuity if a meter is available.

The image below may help you with this project. Remember to turn the power off first.

The image also contains a list of error codes you might see. The codes might help pin the problem down if you've seen any.

You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.

Thank you for a good question and sorry to hear the filter is not sitting right. After reviewing the service manual it looks like the filter is screwed down in a couple of places. Please click on the attachment provided below showing where the screws are positioned. If the screws are already in place & the filter is still bowed up in the front I recommend re-ordering. Please get back with us if you need further assistance.
