I am pretty sure it's part #17, but ours looks slightly different. It definitely attaches in this area and causes the door seal to open when you push the lever.

Thank you for your reply and the additional information. I apologize for the delay in this response. Key 17 in the diagram is the water dispenser lever and does not activate the ice dispenser door. Do you mean key 7? That is the ice door mechanism assembly. I have located a couple of photos of how to remove that part. Re-installing it would be reversing the process. I have included the photos in the image at the bottom of this thread.

I hope this answers your questions. If I can be of further assistance please respond to this thread. Thank you again for choosing Sears.

The part looks like #17, not #7. It has a small hole at the top that appears to fit on the end of another piece (maybe #17) and it curves around and I think attaches to the back of the arm.

I have a similar issue. The hook that holds the pin for the ice door flap is broken on one side. I've misplaced parts 4, 5, 6, 7 & 12 so I need those and the part to which they attached, the lever (part 11) is in place. It appears this part is the inside/back panel behind the levers that all of the fittings are attached to.

Q:

Leaking Ice Maker ED5VHEXTB01 Whirlpool Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your ice maker. You will need to check if the ice maker is overfilling or if it is leaking. The constant filling and leaking is likely caused by a failed solenoid water valve. This valve is located behind the bottom service panel on the outside back portion of the freezer. To access this valve, you can unplug the refrigerator and remove the cardboard service panel. Shut off the water supply to the refrigerator before you disconnect any water lines. Replacing the water valve assembly should fix this problem. However, if the mold is cracked or broken in any way, then the ice maker itself will need to be replaced. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help. Thank you for using Manage My Life.com.
