Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the ice dispenser stops working. The information you have received is good. Press the lever in slowly and listen for a clicking sound. If you do not hear this sound, it will indicate that either the switch has failed or the actuator is not making contact with the switch. Remove the front cover and you will be able to see the switch and what is happening. Im attaching a picture of how to remove the front cover. Be sure to disconnect the power first.

If you do hear the clicking sound, the problem could be with the motor or a wiring problem. With the power disconnected, remove the top door hinge and you will see a harness connection. First, make sure the connection is tight and there are no loose wires. If the connection appears ok, a voltage check will need to be made between the blue and white wires. Reconnect the power and press the door switch in and activate the lever. If there is 120 volts between these wires, it will indicate the motor # 2188242 has probably failed and will need to be replaced. It could be a loose wire connection between the hinge and motor but it would be very unlikely. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

I know it can be frustrating when the dispenser starts leaking. A slow random leak will be caused from air in the water line. Unfortunately, the model number listed is not complete. There must be at least 1 and it could have 2 numbers in the first part of the model number. Some models have a redesigned water line to help stop this type of problem. For more specific information, please recheck and verify the model number and I will be glad to assist you further.

The model will accept the redesigned water tube # 8201537 to help correct this type of leak. It's available at the link listed below. This tube can be difficult to install and may require a technician. The dispenser will need to be accessed (see picture) to get to the water fitting assembly (#10 in picture). First disconnect power to the unit. To remove this line, there is a water fitting under the freezer door that will need to be disconnected. Be careful some water will come out. With this connection loose, when you take the water fitting loose, inside the dispenser, you will now be able to pull the water tube up through the door. It fits in a channel inside the door and will slide but it can be difficult. With the tube out, now push the new tube back through the door and reconnect it. I hope this will help you. If you don't feel confident replacing this tube, a technician will be needed.
