Question and Answers

What do I need to do to fix this icemaker?

This will usually be either an icemaker or water valve problem. There are some test terminals on the icemaker module that can help determine, the cause of the problem. To access the module, pull the cover off of the front, of the icemaker (see picture). You can now see the terminals and they will be marked (see picture). Use a well insulted jumper and place it between the L - V terminals. Be careful this is a hot (live) check. With the jumper in place, water should now flow to the icemaker. If water does flow, the icemaker # 4317943 will need to be replaced. If no water flows but you can hear a humming noise, the water valve # 4389177 will be needed. If nothing at all happens, some voltage checks will need to be made. A technician may be needed, to make these checks. These parts are available at SearsPartsDirect . If you need more assistance, please resubmit your question, with additional details.
