I have the same refrigerator and the ice bin freezes up no matter if you use crushed or cubed. I cant get the bin out most of the time to unfreeze it. Do I need a whole new bin?

A:

Martha, it is common for these bins to freeze to the door. This is because every time the door is opened, the ice bucket is out of the freezer. Condensation will start to form and eventually it will freeze the bucket to the door. To help this type of problem, get in and out of the freezer as quickly as possible. Also periodically remove the bucket and wipe the area under it to remove any condensation and finally make sure the ice chute door is closing properly. If it does not make a good seal, air will enter and migrate up the chute and cause this problem. I hope this will help you.
